2021 was my final year in Honda F1. There has never been a more dramatic season than this one, and I was very happy to be able to watch it in real time, albeit online.
On December 19th, I went to a Red Bull event called Gouon Tokyo. Unfortunately, the tickets were sold out and I couldn't see the event, but I was happy enough because I personally wanted to see F1 more. The video is available on Youtube below, and I'd like to explain a bit about it on my blog as well.
It is very sad that this is the last year that the Honda logo will be on the car. I would have liked to see it at Suzuka, but it was cancelled this year due to the coronavirus outbreak. I couldn't understand why the Olympics was held but F1 was cancelled even without spectators, but it couldn't be helped.
I was also able to get a pretty close shot. I wanted to try shooting from this low angle. This is the kind of angle that the officials broadcast when they leave the pits.
These are Alfatauri wheels. I like the chunky look of the 13-inch wheels, also I think the 18-inch wheels might be cool too. I don't think I can usually get this close to the camera. In actual racing, this nut often gets stuck and creates dramatic scenes.I heard that it takes only a little more than one turn to tighten it, so I think it is an amazing technique.
I am so proud of the glorious #1. I was so happy to be able to watch the whole season with such excitement. Thank you, Red Bull Honda. Thank you, Max, Perez, Gasly and Tsunoda.
By the way, I also went to Honda's Aoyama Welcome Plaza. It proudly says that we won the championship.
